What is a comic con?
Comic con is short for comic convention. It’s an event held in various locations around the country, including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and other major cities. It’s main purpose is to celebrate comic and superhero inspired pop culture, including comic books, science fiction, fantasy, film, television, animation, and gaming. Specific conventions focused on Japanese manga pop culture are called anime cons.
